New CD By Irie Lions Due In March
Northwest Arkansas’s Roots-Dub Reggae group The Irie Lions has completed their new CD “Forward Ever” and has slated a CD Release Party for March 16th at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville based band was established in 2011 by Ska-T Hilliard and Ciavash Zaifi. The band has had to overcome several trials, constantly changing members and life changing events happening almost on a regular basis.
After their first EP release the band was hungry to put out a full album of what they would call “quality” Reggae, and have been diligently working to make it happen. The new full length album that is to change the idea of what Arkansas can produce when it comes to modern Reggae. The band is becoming heavily influenced by many Dub artists, this influence is leaching into the music.
A fusion of Roots-Reggae mixed in with PHAT dub sections gives their music a unique style not found in many other artists repertoire.
Our plan was to make something original with a combination of sounds that inspired us growing up, from Hendrix and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Bob Marley and Slightly Stoopid. Those are only just a few.
This 7 piece band combines originality and love for a dynamic sound. Reggae foundation with a landscape of funky jazzy fresh sounds to keep your ears crying for more!
