2020 Arkansas Music Business Conference Dates Announced
Featuring Syndicut Music, Debbie Z Entertainment (Nashville TN), and Willow Sound (Toronto, Canada): From the Bandroom to the Boardroom – Understanding The Business of Music
The 2020 Arkansas Music Business Conference is 3 days of music business events, classes and performance opportunities taking place in Northwest Arkansas tailored to musicians, songwriters and music artists.
These events will be presented by Syndicut Music from Nashville TN in cooperation with NWA’s own Echo Lounge Studios and Musicians Pro Academy of Johnson, AR. The Syndicut is a development group for music creators looking to build their career and establish themselves in the music business. With a special focus on education, The Syndicut empowers artist/writers in becoming successful entrepreneurs and creating a sustainable living making music. Members are hand selected and coached in the areas of songwriting, performance, brand, audience building, social media strategies and the business skills needed to navigate today’s music industry equipping them with what they need to achieve success as music industry entrepreneurs.
The Events: February 14-16 2020
Friday, February 14 from 6-8pm: The Art of the Pitch – How to Get Your Music ‘Out’ There. Led by Syndicut Music, this event will focus on strategies and techniques for getting your music heard and how to impress potential publishers, song pluggers, and record label executives with your music. This event will include a “performance lottery” where local songwriter attendees will have an opportunity to play their song for Major Label song publishers and song pluggers. Saturday, February 15 from 9am-4pm: From The Bandroom To The Boardroom – Understanding The Business of Music. Led by Debbie Zavitson and Tara Shannon of Syndicut Music, this class is an all day event. From how to structure the business of your music to set you up for success to key ingredients for self preservation and success in the Music Industry. Hosted by Echo Lounge Sound Studios. Saturday, February 15 from 6-8pm: Women in Music – What You Need To Know Presented by Syndicut Music, DebbieZ Entertainment, and Willow Sound. An event to empower Women in the Music Business with strategies for success. There will be a “performance lottery” opportunity during the event for local female artists/songwriters to perform an original song for Major Label song publishers and song pluggers. Sunday, February 16th from 9am-4pm: Understanding The Business of Music – From The Roots Up led by Syndicut Music. Attendees will get a full day of classes that will focus on a comprehensive guide to understanding all of the aspects of the music industry and how to navigate yourself to ensure success. About Our Presenters:
The Syndicut is comprised of music industry professionals, Debbie Zavitson and Tara Shannon.
Debbie Zavitson is a veteran in the music industry and the experience she brings from performing with her own band internationally, to being an executive in A&R at Sony and Giant Records is invaluable. Debbie is responsible for signing multi-platinum recording artist Blake Shelton, as well as managing the integral first years of his career. In the publishing realm, Debbie has worked with an array of hit songwriters, and has secured song placements on major recording artists such as Reba McEntire, Rodney Atkins, Chris Young, Brooks & Dunn, to name a few.
Debbie is a champion for songwriters and supporting their efforts to sustain their income and livelihood.
Tara Shannon is an award winning indie artist writer with over 20 years experience in the music industry. Her music has been featured by World Youth Days, CBC, Canadian Showtime Chorus, DEBRA Canada, Big Brothers Big Sisters & United Way to name a few. She has been a guest speaker at events such at Artpreneur, Impact and the G20 Summit and more. As the Co-Founder, CFO/VP of the TIF Group of Companies which includes Willow Sound Records, she brings a special focus on entrepreneurship to help empower artists & writers in reaching their career goals. She brings her unique experience in starting and managing companies to help music creators navigate the business of music and become successful entrepreneurs in today’s music industry.
Who is bringing this opportunity to NWA?
Shaun Bayles and Adam Rogers, owners of Echo Lounge Studios and Musicians Pro Academy in Johnson, AR.
Both are NWA Natives, Springdale High School graduates and have been friends since they met in the band room of Southwest Junior High in Springdale AR at age 14. They both lived and worked in Nashville’s music industry for over 20 years.
Shaun Bayles is considered one of Nashville’s busiest guitarists and has performed all over the world with Country, Pop and Rock music’s biggest stars and living legends including Little Texas, Carmine Appice, Dustin Lynch, Bucky Covington, Hank Williams Jr., Chuck Wicks, Michelle Wright, Sarah Buxton, Trent Willmon, Alana Grace, Katrina Elam and many other Major Label artists. He is also an accomplished songwriter, producer and film and television composer with songs appearing on TNT Network, Disney, and Pursuit Network. He is also a graduate of highly acclaimed Belmont University School of Music.
Adam Rogers developed an innovative sound and style by studying and working as an recording and mixing engineer for over a decade in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from SAE School if Audio Engineering and has had the pleasure of working with top charting songwriters, major label musicians, and television networks such as Katrina Elam, Zavitson Music Group, Hank Williams Jr. Enterprises, Beau Tackett (Blake Shelton), TNT Network, The Disney Channel.
