Maren Morris To Open for Niall Horan At AMP
Here’s a tour pairing you probably didn’t see coming: Maren Morris has signed on to hit the road with former One Direction member Niall Horan in 2018.
Morris will be joining Horan on his 2018 Flicker World Tour, which is scheduled to run from July through September next year. Stops include Nashville, Tenn.; Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Ill.; and Denver, Colo. A complete list of stops is in Morris’ Instagram post announcing the news, which readers can see above.
Morris and Horan recently recorded a song called “Seeing Blind” together. The pop singer revealed the news, and the track, during the Capitol Congress event in early August, though further details about the song have not yet been announced.
Morris is currently on the road with Sam Hunt, as part of Hunt’s 15 in a 30 Tour, and enjoying the success of her recent hits, “I Could Use a Love Song” and “Craving You;” the latter is a duet with Thomas Rhett. Tickets for her shows with Horan on the 2018 Flicker World Tour are on sale now via Horan’s official website.
Morris is not the only country artist who will be touring with a former One Direction member in 2018: Kacey Musgraves will be on the road with Harry Styles next year as well.
Fresh from the huge success of his global smash hit “Slow Hands,” Niall Horan has spent the past year working on his debut solo album and is set to bring new music to his fans in a series of intimate shows. Niall has sold over 70 million records as part of the all-conquering group One Direction and has toured the globe numerous times. His debut platinum single “This Town,” released in 2016, has sold more than three million track equivalent units globally. Combined streams now surpass 350 million worldwide. The Los Angeles Times said, “The guitar ballad is a tender, swoon-worthy number” and Entertainment Weekly hailed it as “a wistful tale of young love lost.”
He followed up the ballad’s release with the grittier R&B-infused track “Slow Hands,” which went straight to #1 in 44 countries and continues to climb the charts around the world. Line of Best Fit said, “He’s shed his squeaky clean onesie and donned a crooner coat, giving us one of the coolest, catchiest choruses of 2017 in the process.”
