Oktoberfest Comes To Dickson Street!!
On October 11, 2015 join us on Dickson Street for what is bound to be Fayetteville’s favorite new festival!
Dickson Street Oktoberfest celebrates German heritage by replicating the traditional Volksfest (folk festival) held in Germany each year. Full of fun fall activities, this family-friendly festival in the heart of Fayetteville’s Arts & Entertainment district was created to highlight the very best in local cuisine, beer and music.
Dickson Street Businesses are coming out of the woodwork with fun things to do! Nightbird Books will be having a Grimms Fairytale event, Emelia’s Kitchen is serving a full German wine menu inside, and vending outside, and Farrell’s Lounge, Bar and Grill will be running specials on all their Oktoberfest Beers all day! Ink & Glass Company will be doing Sharpie tattoos for kids (or grown ups)!
Oktoberfest is pleased to announce our first annual Tent Decorating Contest! Featuring local “celebrity” judges, the contest is open to businesses, non-profit organizations, social clubs, schools, Greek organizations or even a creative group of family and friends! Teams are tasked with creating the most remarkable Oktoberfest tent, keeping with the traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest theme. The winning team will receive a donation to the non-profit of their choice.
Mr. Oktoberfest pageant at Kingfish will be emceed by the NWA Society of Bearded and Mustachioed Gentlemen and will include judging on their belching abilities, wet t-shirt beer bellies, and other fun events.
Live music on four stages, including a giant George’s Majestic Lounge stage in the lot behind Bordinos, a Fayetteville Flyer stage on Rollston Avenue, a DJ stage in front of Dickson Street Liquor, and a family-friendly stage in the root beer garden behind Shulertown.
