What You Need To Know For Lights of the Ozarks 2020
The Lights of the Ozarks, produced by Experience Fayetteville, is a holiday celebration of lights in Fayetteville, AR, that begins with a 6:00 p.m. lighting ceremony on the Friday prior to Thanksgiving, and continues to illuminate the Historic Square through New Year’s Day at 1:00 a.m. Enjoy winter treats, hot chocolate, and festive music on the downtown square each night during Lights of the Ozarks.
Here’s what you need to know for the Lights of the Ozarks 2020.
Q: How many lights are there on the Historic Square?
The City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department begins installation in October of approximately 400,000 thousand LED lights, and spends over 3300 hours doing so.
Q: When is the Lighting Night Parade?
Due to COVID-19, Experience Fayetteville has decided to cancel the Lights of the Ozarks parade previously scheduled to be held Friday, Nov. 20.
However, the long-standing lighting ceremony will be held virtually. Experience Fayetteville staff continue to work on the event and are focusing on programming the Historic Downtown Square safely during Lights of the Ozarks.
Q: Will there be pony rides at Lights of the Ozarks this year?
For the health and safety of our community, we have reduced the number of vendors and programming on the square. Carriage rides, pony rides and pictures with Santa will not take place this year. Follow along with us on social media for more socially distanced programming!
Q: Where do we send letters to Santa?
Santa’s mailbox will be located by the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center starting Friday, November 20th. Don’t forget to include a return address so Santa can write back!
Q: How do I apply to be a vendor at Lights of the Ozarks?
We are excited to welcome applications from food and beverage vendors starting September 22nd! Applications can be found on our website. For more information, reach out to Chloe Bell at cbell@experiencefayetteville.com.
Q: What if it rains?
This is a RAIN OR SHINE event.
Q: I lost something at Lights of the Ozarks! How can I get it back?
Contact Experience Fayetteville at info@experiencefayetteville.com or call 479-521-5776 to inquire about lost & found items. We will keep items up to 30 days.
Q: Where can I park?
A PDF map of downtown parking is here: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/DocumentCenter/View/2327/Map-of-Downtown-Business-District-PDF?bidId=
Q: Can I bring my dog?
Well behaved pets on a leash are welcome Lights of The Ozarks. Don’t forget to pick up after your dog. You can find doggy pick up bags on the southwest corner of the square.
