One of Dickson Street’s Live Music Venues announces a big change on their Facebook page…
“Joe Fennel and Doug Allen, the owners of Jose’s on Dickson Street and Jody Thornton, the owner of JJ’s Grills, announced today that they are joining forces to open and operate a JJ’s Grill at the Jose’s Dickson Street location. Jose’s has operated continuously on Dickson for 35 years and established itself as a Northwest Arkansas tradition.
Joe, a fixture on Dickson Street has always been actively involved in promoting the local area in all possible ways and is currently the president of the Dickson Street Merchant Association. Joe also owns and operates Bordino’s, one of the area’s most successful fine dining restaurants. Doug is very active in the community and with the Dickson Street Merchant Association as well. He owns & operates the Jose’s in Springdale, which has been extremely successful at carrying forth the Jose’s traditions known and loved by many Northwest Arkansans. Recently they decided they wanted to concentrate more on their other operations, but still wanted to have a hand in the operation of the Jose’s Dickson location. In recent years they have watched as Jody opened six JJ’s in NW Arkansas and began to think that this might be a perfect alliance. The guys felt that the JJ’s was great match for the new pulse of Dickson Street and that it could make the best of the street’s most premier location. So, the three started to have conversations and all came to the conclusion that it was a perfect fit.
Joe and Doug are very thankful for the loyal customers and the years Jose’s has been on Dickson Street. But as of today, the 3 are moving forward in preparing for the exciting opportunity ahead. They will spend the next several months revamping the space and look forward to everyone coming down and checking out the new look JJ’s.”
