Long time Morning Radio DJ Chester Pulliam, known as “Chester P” has passed away. Chester had been the Morning Jock for decades, adding Assistant Program Director and Assistant Production Director to the list for iHeart Radio’s 93.3 The Eagle in Fayetteville.
Chester had just passed his 34th year working in Radio and 54th year working in the music industry and has given credit to his older sisters who introduced him to music as the decades passed by.
Cut to the 80’s, Nashville, a song writer I’d worked with alot, who happened to be a veteran DJ, told me of an opening at an AM Oldies station. I got the job, thanks in no small part to my sisters, and it was like the heavens opened and a celestial choir sang “Ahhhhhh”. Except for the pay. Weekdays 5-10am But, I was hooked.
