I took some time to hit a show at the Walmart AMP last night.
This was my first time there. The venue was great! Very clean, Hi Tech and a the conformable atmosphere helped make it a great night as we watched the Dashboard Confessional and Third Eye Blind show. As I walked throughout the venue I ran in to friends also attending the show. Everyone seemed happy and as if they were absolutely enjoying themselves. This is something you don’t always see at a concert. The Staff was nice, the Security was evident but not overpowering. Rogers EMS and Fire were onsite as well.
The smoking area was up and out in the fresh air and the smell of delicious food ran strong thru the enormous tent like venue. Parking really wasn’t an issue. I had to walk a bit but with random thoughts rolling thru my head I found myself at the front gates in no time at all. My suggestion would be to pay the little extra and have the option of parking a bit closer. Handicap Parking is available.
I think what really showed to be an interest in our local community was the fact that the Beer was being sold by a local 501c3 charity group called Riders United 4 Children, a group of bikers with big hearts and a passion to help abused and neglected children. I have worked with these fine people in the past and have held a strong friendship with many of the members for years. RU4C is often looking for Volunteers to assist them with beer sales during The AMP’s shows. You can reach out to them at their website www.ru4c.org.
All in all, if you are looking for something to do this Summer, take some time and come out to your favorite concert and enjoy the great food, fun people and good music. It’s a great place to come have dinner, a few drinks and mingle with friends.
