Another Local On NBC’s The Voice
Fayetteville has certainly been in the spot light lately for it’s production of great singer/songwriters. Trey O’Dell has joined the list of local artists successfully gaining a turn on Team Blake.
Trey O’Dell is a singer/songwriter from Fayetteville, AR. While living in Fayetteville to study business at the University of Arkansas, Trey has been working with singer/songwriters and producers to develop his soulful sound and song writing flair. Trey has been compared to pop artists such as Ed Sheeran, James Bay, and John Mayer. His music style spans from pop to rock, all with a soulful edge.
Known for his tone and ability to deliver a lyric, Trey has been performing at venues in Northwest Arkansas since 2013. He has opened for the bands Boom Kinetic and Barrett Baber at the famous George’s Majestic Lounge. Trey can also be found performing on campus at the University of Arkansas. He has entertained at a variety of Greek events, including Row Week. In 2015, he joined the lineup of BYX Island Music Festival artists Judah and The Lion, Penny and Sparrow, and Little Chief. Trey is an avid Razorback fan. While attending the U of A, he has often been invited to perform the National Anthem at Razorback sporting events. A highlight for 2015 was the incredible opportunity to sing the National Anthem in Kansas City at a Sporting KC soccer game.
Trey has loved performing since he was a kid. He entered a talent show as an Elvis impersonator when he was only 1 ½, singing Blue Suede Shoes. Throwing it back to one of his childhood inspirations, in 2014, Trey recorded That’s All Right Mama at the legendary Sun Studios. He had an incredible time jamming with the band and special guest, Dave Roe, former bassist for Johnny Cash. His appreciation for pioneer artists like Elvis flows into his own style of music. He believes that an appreciation for the past is essential to growing as an artist and developing his own sound.
