Amanda Rey & West Street Blues Band are no strangers to the blues scene. Amanda Rey was born in Memphis, TN and spent most of her youth in between family homes in Holmes County, Mississippi and Washington County, Arkansas (Fayetteville) finally making the Ozark area her permanent home in 2003. Performing from a very early age in church and piano recitals, music always has been her passion and drive. Influences include Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Nina Simone, Stevie Nicks, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, and Ray Charles, and a host of others.
Amanda is backed by a rhythm section that can only be described as intense, and as a group, the band is dedicated to delivering only their best with each performance. The blood, sweat and tears that forged the music that flows is very real and apparent as Amanda lays every emotion on the stage with her soulful voice.
“The blues is our way of life. We eat, sleep, drink and live the blues. It moves us all the way down to our souls and it is our mission to keep our genre alive.”
